Why this page exists
I build Somto on my own and I enjoy doing it. There is no plan to monetise it and I am not looking for one. If that ever changes I will say so plainly, rather than filling the app with ads.
Servers cost money, obviously, but as long as I can carry it I will. This page is here because every so often somebody asks how they can help, and answering "nothing, thanks" every time felt rude.

Worth knowing
You unlock nothing
Whoever buys a coffee sees exactly the same Somto as whoever doesn't. No badge, no members-only features. If leaving something bought you an advantage, Somto would be a paid app dressed up as a free one, and I'd rather it wasn't.
It isn't a subscription, unless you deliberately pick the recurring option, which you can stop whenever you want. And it isn't tax-deductible, because Somto is not a non-profit.
I never see your card details, Stripe handles the payment. How I handle data is written in the privacy policy.

How do I pay?
Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, on Stripe's checkout. Your card details never pass through Somto.
Does anything change in my account?
No, everything stays the same. You don't unlock badges or extra features.
Can I do it from the iPhone app?
It happens on this page, in the browser. There is nothing to buy inside the app.
How do I stop the recurring one?
From the link in Stripe's confirmation email, whenever you want. You don't have to write to anyone.
Is it tax-deductible?
No, Somto is not a non-profit. Stripe sends you a confirmation email with the amount.
I'd rather not leave anything.
No worries, nothing changes. If you want to help for free, mention Somto to someone who watches too many shows.
